MatrixOne was one of the leading Enterprise PLM Software vendors, competing with Agile Software (now Oracle) and UGS (now Siemens PLM), and headquartered in Boston. MatrixOne was acquired by Dassault Systemes (headquartered in Paris and Europe’s 2nd largest software vendor after SAP) for $408m and rebranded ENOVIA. At the time, MatrixOne was a 500 employee business with global revenues of $124m. The Dassault Systemes PLM business remains the global Enterprise PLM leader today.
We started working with MatrixOne prior to the acquisition and were involved in hiring efforts across Europe – particularly leadership, Sales and Presales. Post-acquisition and after the re-branding to Enovia, the business was run as an autonomous unit within Dassault. At this point, we became engaged on a greater basis.
We were engaged by the SVP Europe and US-based Global VP HR of Enovia to manage all European leadership and Enterprise Sales, Presales and Marketing recruitment via targeted searching within predominantly the PLM and related Enterprise Software spaces.
The existing team within the business needed growing and up-skilling in terms of enterprise solution selling capability and the parent organisation (Dassault Systemes) was used to hiring less experienced and more tactical product-focussed sales people from within the CAD/CAM/CAE markets.
Along with the SVP Europe and HR, we managed a large number of concurrent Executive Searches across Europe, focused on targeting and attracting the best individuals in the industry.
Examples of the Searches we executed are below:
